"My first impression of Idaho was not a fair impression of what Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve had in store for me. Not even a little bit. My limited view of Idaho was not a fair impression of the state, either."
When I set out on my big summer road trip, I compiled a list of things that I was most excited to see along the way. Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve was NOT on it. It's the only thing that I visited in Idaho, and it's unusual landscape quickly earned a really special place in my heart.
I wrote about my incredible experience in Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve for She Explores. I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue contributing to the She Explores community, a thoughtful group of women sharing their experiences in the outdoors and on the road. Check out my landmark essay here.
